October is the Month of the Holy Rosary
We all have a Guardian Angel
On October 2nd, the Church celebrated the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, a beautiful reminder that God never leaves us alone. His providence is so great that He sends His angels to watch over us and guide us each day.
Jesus Himself spoke of the angels in the Gospel of Matthew when He said: “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven” (Mt 18:10). With these words, the Lord assures us that each of us is entrusted to the care of an angel who intercedes for us and reflects God’s loving presence.
The Guardian Angels are more than a childhood devotion. They are companions on our journey of faith—protecting us from spiritual harm, whispering encouragement in times of struggle, and reminding us of God’s nearness when life feels heavy.
Though unseen, they play an important role in helping us remain close to Christ and faithful to His Gospel.
This feast is also an invitation for us to deepen our trust in God’s plan. Each day, we can pray to our Guardian Angel, asking for light in decisions, courage in trials, and protection for our families and parish community.
As we continue through this month of October, let us thank God for the gift of our Guardian Angels and remain attentive to their gentle guidance, until we are led safely into the joy of heaven.
Prayer to our Guardian Angel
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
to whom God’s love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide.
