Novena for the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Let us pray:
O God, you have given us Mary as our Mother, Our Lady of Mount Carmel. May we imitate her goodness and faith and example as a disciple.
May we learn to be grateful for all you have done in us and for us.
May Mary watch over and protect us on our pilgrim way with the support of our brothers and sisters.
We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for intercession:
Blessed Lady of Mount Carmel,
We place ourselves under your patronage and ask you to intercede for us so that we may grow as your Son’s disciples and become stronger as a community.
Prayers for Specific Days
Day 8: For those who are sick in the Parish
We pray for those who are physically sick, those who are living with mental illness, those who are frail, those who are facing death that they will always sense the presence of God.
Day 9: For all who have died. We pray especially for all those who have died from this parish that they will receive eternal life.

Sea Sunday
Seafarers and fishers play a vital role in all of our lives, but they often work in difficult, hazardous conditions. Sea Sunday is this Sunday 13th July. It is when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. Your support will make a big difference to seafarers and fishers in need. This collection is vital to enable Stella Maris to continue its important work, so please give generously. Thank you. We welcome Theresa Davis, a parishioner, who is also a trustee of ‘Stella Maris’. Theresa will make an appeal on behalf of Stella Maris at the morning Masses at OLSG this weekend.
Looking ahead, this Wednesday we celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. This is a day for us to celebrate, to give thanks, and to pray for this parish. I encourage you to come along to the evening Mass at 7 pm on Wednesday. We will welcome Bishop Jim Curry as our guest.
