The Cenacle (the Upper Room) is the sacred dwelling place where Jesus gathered for the Passover meal with his disciples, yet they witness the Last Supper. In doing this, Jesus instituted the sacraments of the Eucharist and Holy Orders. The disciples gathered here again to pray for the ‘power from on high’ that had been promised; the Holy Spirit. The walls of the Cenacle witnessed the institution of another sacrament, this time, Confirmation. You are invited to a ‘Weekend in the Cenacle’- a parish retreat in the dwelling place of Our Lady of Mount Carmel & St George. The Lenten retreat will include daily Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament & talks led by Fr Darren Maslen (a member of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament), on the Cenacle in Scripture, The Eucharist & our response as Eucharistic People. For details and to register, please visit reception or email .
