From October there will be only two priests in the parish which makes the present timetable of Masses, both on weekdays and Sundays, impossible to continue in its present form. After consultation with Bp John Sherrington, as from Sunday 1st October, the following changes to the present time table of Masses will be introduced:
On weekdays: there will be only one Mass on Wednesdays and Thursdays, in OLSG at 12.30pm. This is due to the fact that on those two days there will be only one priest on duty. Other weekday Masses will be celebrated as usual.
On Sundays: there will be only one Mass in OLW at 10am. This allows the priest who will celebrate this Mass to celebrate the 8am and 12noon Mass in OLSG. Further, to enable the priest who will celebrate the remaining two morning Masses in OLSG to retain contact with the faithful, the 9.15am Mass will start 15 minutes earlier at 9am. Saturday and Sunday evening Masses will stay as they are.
This arrangement is part of the ongoing discernment process by the parish and the Archbishop’s Council about how we continue to grow as missionary disciples and evangelise our neighbourhood with the hope of Jesus Christ.
Please pray for your clergy and our deanery as well as the bishops in this time of transition
